Woodwork - St. Werburgh's Nursery School

Research Paper: Woodwork

Investigating the impact of woodwork on young children’s learning, development and wellbeing. Researching best current practice for introducing woodwork and establishing it safely in nursery settings. This research will highlight how woodwork links to the new EYFS. The research will extend to collaborating with colleagues in other countries where woodworking is established in nursery settings to explore common issues and effective practice.

Update:

Pete Moorhouse has recently been accorded Honorary Research Fellow at the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol. He will be working in collaboration with the university,  using their research and library facilities. He has also been invited to an Early Year's conference in Japan to discuss creativity and woodwork. As part of this he will be visiting Schools in Japan which will also feed into his current research.
