Differentiated Early Years Outcomes

The positive impacts of using this assessment tool at St Werburgh’s Nursery School:

  • Enables practitioners to identify children’s next step learning needs and break down these key learning concepts into small steps to allow the tiptoe steps of progression to be visible and most importantly, celebrated.

  • Enables practitioners to understand how children with complex needs learn and who they are as individuals.

  • Through reflective discussions the fundamental importance of having a daily planning teaching assessment cycle for our most complex learners has been re-visited.

  • Working alongside parents/carers to support their understanding of this assessment tool not only has enabled them to actively contribute, it has also strengthened relationships, given a truly accurate profile of their child and most importantly has allowed progress to be celebrated
